Hi, my name is Emma Cinealis, and I am an Apparel Designer!
I have always had a love for apparel and fashion. I am an identical twin, and from an early age I craved identity. Fashion became my way of showing my family and friends who I am, and it still is today! I became a designer so that people like me who had to work for their independence can find clothing that they love and showcase their own identity.
I am currently located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I am working as an Assistant Designer for Sonoma Men's Knit Tops and Sweaters. I have a Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Retail and a concentration in Apparel Design and Development from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I have minors in both Sustainability and Sociology. I have a deep love and understanding of both, and I frequently weave aspects of them into my designs.
I have apparel design experience at Kohl's, Lands' End, and DSG Outerwear.
At Kohl’s I currently have ownership for design in the men's sweaters category of Kohl's private brand, Sonoma. I also assist our Associate Designer with Sonoma Men's Knit Tops. In this role I am responsible for researching trends and competitor brands to create styles that fill our assortment plans while fitting the needs of our customer. I collaborate with vendors on developing samples, knit downs, and other submits. I also am responsible for advocating and presenting research based design choices to our merchants and leadership.
At Lands’ End I designed men’s woven apparel. Here I was able to expand my skills technically and I grew a love for menswear. I assisted our assistant designer with trend research, sketching, and fit sessions.
At DSG Outerwear I designed women’s hunting, fishing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling apparel. In this position I was able to design functional clothing for a unique target market. I primarily worked on the hunting and fishing category; designing outerwear, gear, and accessories.
I also have experience designing home goods at Kohl's. I designed pillows, rugs, curtains, and storage solutions for their private brands: Sonoma, Celebrate Together, Big One Kids, St Nicholas Square, and Miryana. I loved expanding my skills and knowledge within product design.
